Philosophy

"Your life, as fine art"

That isn't just a tagline; although I was pretty proud of myself when I thought it up. 

That statement captures the material aspect of my mission:

to create memories, captured in timeless imagery, crafted with intention, with the aim that they will hang on the walls of your home not only as photos but as art that you cherish.  

However, I wanted to share how that statement also captures my philosophy behind what I do. 

I believe that YOU alone are the art. I believe that you were hand crafted with the highest level of intention by the Greatest of artists. 

If in some tiny, human way my photography becomes the medium that shows you, reminds you of (or perhaps helps you discover) that very idea - then my friends, my job is done.

Ashley & Dallas - A VMI Engagement

Dallas is the younger brother to one of my very best friends from college. I've known him since he was just a young guy and have been able to watch him grow into an absolutely outstanding young man. I am thankful too, that along the way I've been able to get to know his (now) wife Ashley, as she is sweetness in its purest form!

On the day these photos were taken, Dallas commissioned in the Army. The following day; he graduated from VMI (Virginia Military Institute, the location for this shoot) and the following Saturday, he married his beautiful wife. What a week! 

I am so glad I was able to freeze in time a few moments from an undoubtedly momentous week in this couples life.  My words can not and will never do justice in explaining their deep love and affection for one another. 

My hope is that these images do.
