Rizza and I go way back - we are sorority sisters, in the same "jersey family", and even former roommates! So when Rizza approached me about photographing her and her fiancĂ©'s engagement session I was thrilled - of course because of the photography, but also just to catch up!

We planned their shoot at Daniel's family farm property in McCrae, Georgia.  Over the few weeks leading up the shoot, Rizza and Daniel raved about the location and their ideas for the session.  I cannot repeat enough how I was blown away by both! The property was beautiful; it was the perfect fall afternoon to shoot. Serene, colorful, and around every corner was yet another perfect, hidden treasure of a background.  Their ideas (planning a picnic topped off with vintage books, stopping by the pastures, etc) did not disappoint!

On our way down to McCrae I was lucky enough to hear Rizza and Daniel's oh-so-sweet engagement story.  I enjoyed getting to know Daniel better - he has heart melting southern charm, a chivalrous spirit and most importantly a huge heart for Rizza.  I could go on and on, but I'll let the photos speak for themselves!

{without further adieu}

A perfect D.C. Sunday afternoon, a lovely couple newly engaged, deeply in love...could I ask for anything more?  I had a grand time photographing these two. We visited Montrose Park to find a sweet spot Larin and Patrick found the weekend before - beautifully aged stone steps leading up to a wrought iron gate - fabulous find! Next we spent time in the gardens at Dumbarton Oaks.  If you ever find yourself in the District looking for a beautiful way to spend an afternoon, I strongly suggest visiting this locale. Between the terraces, lawns and the appropriately named Lovers' Lane Pool we had no problem finding those perfectly romantic spots to settle in and capture some great photographs.  Finally we headed down to the Potomac as the sun set between the willow trees.

Larin and Patrick -I wish you all the best as you plan your wedding a prepare for marriage together! Your love for each other makes my heart swell and it brings me joy that I got to capture these photos for you.  I can't wait until your wedding day - although, I must not forget the Kleenex...I know I'm going to need it!
