Engagement, wedding, maternity. All milestone moments in life when we decide to capture where and who we are in photographs. What about the moments in between? The times that really make us who we are?

There's no better time than right now to have portraits made with the person (or people) you love. Julia and Clint have been married for a little over a year now. They simply wanted to take the time to capture who and where they are in life and love with a portrait session. I couldn't have been happier to be obliged!   We planned their session on what turned out to be the perfect fall weekend - the height of autumn leaf season. It couldn't have been lovelier! We began our session in downtown Raleigh and wrapped things up at Clint's favorite local golf course. Julia and Clint were perfectly comfortable - not just in front of the camera - but also with each other.

As a wedding photographer, it is my joy to capture Day One. As a married person, I know that it's all the days after that grow and deepen your relationship. It was my joy to get to capture Julia and Clint's married love, beyond Day One.

If you could pray for a perfect fall day, you might ask for beautiful autumn colors (at their peak), a splash of warmth in the air, cool blue skies, and cozy sunlight. Well, if Amy and Micah asked for the perfect fall day - their prayers and petitions were heard. And their requests were fulfilled, overflowing. It couldn't have been a more perfect, splendid autumn day for a wedding.

Filled with families anxious to come together, friends beaming with excitement and a bride and groom overcome with joy at the prospect of spending their lives together.  I don't know about you - but I am not sure I could have designed a better day. Enjoy this peek at Amy and Micah's lovely Raleigh, North Carolina wedding. I can't wait to share more!

It's that smile you get when it's quiet and you're not supposed to laugh. The one that isn't just a smile; you know its actually a big, loud, cracking-you-up kind of laugh waiting to boil over into an uncontrollable fit of giggles.

It's the smile I got every time I sat down to work on these photographs.  It's the smile you have when you're in love and it's infectious like the plague.  I might have been a smiling fool behind my computer screen but I don't care one bit.  Hannah and Chris are in love and their laughs and smiles speak volumes of their wonderfully matched personalities. I had such a great time with these two, simply because when you're around them that smile turned fit of laughter is always only a few seconds away.

If you're wondering - I love to travel - and this session took me down to the Raleigh suburb of Cary, North Carolina.  Hannah picked the beautiful Fred G. Bond park and adorable downtown Cary area as the backdrops for the session. We started the session at sunrise and I couldn't have picked a better way to start my day. And I couldn't stop smiling after, either.

{to smiles, giggles, snuggles and love}
