"Little Munchkin"

I am so thankful for the friends I've grown to know since I've moved to Culpeper.  I have to say, while the first few months living here were nothing short of post-wedding bliss, I did miss my girlfriends quite a bit.  I have been so fortunate to have met Laurel and Erica through my past job.  Although circumstances have taken us down different paths and we no longer work together, we do our best to have lunch once a week.

These are a few shots from our lunch at Arch's (remember my fro-yo love?) last week. While Erica and Laurel offer up great conversation, baby Milla takes care of all of the cuteness.  The "office baby" I've come to lovingly call "Little Munchkin" is sugar-sweet and I am so happy to have seen her grow over the last months.

If her little face doesn't make your heart just melt into a puddle of "ooh's" and "aww's", you might just be the Grinch.

Beautiful Barbara

Just a little sneak peek of my shoot with Barbara today.  We found a beautiful little spot on UVA "grounds" (NOT campus, I stand corrected!)

Barbara described herself perfectly - "genuine".   She hit the nail right on the head.  Her smile says it all.

Richmond and a spring day

What's another season without an update on my lovely model Taylor? 

We had a great time a few weeks ago on an unseasonably warm, spring like day.  I am absolutely in love with the downtown Richmond train depot! Out next spot was a nice, beautifully lit area on the river walk. 

Taylor - thanks so much for always being willing to be in front of the lens (and looking good while you're at it)! Without you, I might not know just how much I love photography.  Thanks for helping me find my strengths! Also, thank you for the dancing.  That's always a plus!

Stancil Family Session

Holly and I met through our local Chi Omega Alumnae group when she hosted our Christmas dinner at her lovely home a few weeks ago.  I was thrilled when she contacted me about photographing her kids and family! I love kids.  Many years of babysitting and working in children's ministry have left me missing out on days spent with the littlest of people.  The Stancil kids were a hoot - full of personality and all-around-fun but more importantly, loving and kind.  All of the things I pray my kiddos will be someday.

The best thing about this family session is that it required very little direction on my part.  Every smile you see is genuine...no love was fabricated in the making of these photos!  I just sat back (or, well, laid on the ground occasionally) and clicked away!

I am thankful for the opportunity to get to photograph the Stancils and hope that they are able to treasure these fun moments for years to come!
