When I leave a session gushing to my husband about the couple - you know it was a good day.

I cannot wait to share the rest of this beautiful couple with you. Until then, enjoy a little sneak peek of Jen & Tyler's engagement session.

You may find this couple familiar; if you follow this site, you met them a few weeks ago here

I loved getting to photograph these two at the beach and love even more that they also wanted to do a shoot here in beautiful Virginia. Summer in Virginia is like none other, the mountains in the Shenandoah Valley are stunning, the light is gorgeous and lucky for us the temperature was just right!

I loved this shoot because I was able to be creative beyond what I normally do behind the camera. The florals you see were all hand picked from my mother-in-law's garden and arranged by yours truly! I am by no means a floral artist but it was really fun putting those together. You'll also see the most adorable chalkboard sign, which was on loan to us via Culpeper's very own Green Roost!  I enjoyed putting all my years of doodling to good use by lettering it. The sign is available for purchase, so feel free to stop on by and make it yours.

As I've said before, being around Amy and Micah is such a treat, where ever it is. I cannot wait for their wedding this fall!

Kara and Marshall are two people you just want to be around.  I always love when clients become friends and I'm crossing my fingers I'll get another chance to be around them together sometime.

Their wedding day was so peaceful and calm, yet full of excitement and anticipation. They were perfectly focused on what mattered;
each other,
their marriage,
and the amazing time they'd have with all the people they love so much.

Here's a little sneak peak of their day. I cannot wait to share more!

Today I was able to spend some time talking with two friends who've just returned from a mission trip to Guatemala and I was reminded of how abundantly blessed I am to have the life that I do. On a day when we celebrate our earthly fathers, I was also reminded to thank my Heavenly one. From the roof over my head, to the clean water I drink, to the ability I have to walk into an air conditioned building for worship on Sunday mornings and the safety I have while I am there - there are so many privileges I take for granted that others struggle to or may never enjoy.

I feel so incredibly blessed to get to do a job that I love. I know that all good things come from our Heavenly Father; He loves us, is for us, and never fails us. He isn't waiting to strike us down but is waiting with open arms to love and accept us just as we are. He wants to prosper us and give us life, abundantly

When I look at the blessings I have in my life that one word comes to mind - abundance. God has been so incredibly good to me and I can't help but feel so grateful.  I find it difficult to pen words that accurately reflect the joy and gratitude I have in my heart.

I wanted to share a few shots of a few beautiful places I was able to spend time in this weekend doing the job I am so grateful to have.

The look on his face the moment he sees you for the first time in your wedding gown.

The way he takes your hand, as gently and tenderly as ever for your first dance.

The moment he has to close his eyes to take it all in.

Brides, these are the memories you will carry with you from your wedding day. Fifty years from now when you play back the memory of your heart, it will be the way he loved you that will fill the screen of your mind. The almost infinitesimal things; movement, glances, simple touches, that become the foundation of how you recall your wedding day.

These small things are the big things I love to capture. My ultimate goal is to hand you a tangible memory of what is inscribed on your heart.  To give image to the feelings that make your heart flutter.

The way he loves you.

It won't take you much time perusing my blog to know that I love my job. I adore being around couples in love, capturing their unique romance and creating memories for a lifetime. It's not an exaggeration to say that I thoroughly enjoy every session to the point that I've never left one without a smile on my face.

I love LOVE.

But oh my. Talk about raising my excitement level exponentially when the people in love are people whom I  love. Micah is my husband's brother and Amy his counter part, who I never knew was missing until the moment I saw them together.

It didn't take us in the family very long to know how special Amy was to Micah and we are beyond thrilled to welcome her into the Ward troupe this fall.

We had a lovely time together on the rocky beaches of Fort Fisher, North Carolina. It was the perfect canvas to color with their love.
In these images you will see two people who bring each other joy and it brings me joy to share them with you. I feel so blessed and privileged to serve Amy and Micah as clients, but abundantly more so to have them as family.
